Month Classes
We are very excited to offer classes to members and non-members of WorkbenchRVA. These sessions are designed to grow your skills, as well as strengthen the sense of community and connection that makes our shop special.

We want you to feel welcomed, supported, and inspired every time you walk through the door. These classes provide a space to sharpen your skills, take on new challenges, and build relationships with fellow builders who share your passion.
​
These workshops are more advanced than our standard classes, therefore they will require the entire month to complete. However, the focus is always on maintaining a relaxed, casual, and enjoyable learning atmosphere where you can learn confidently and at your own pace.

JANUARY CLASSES
Dresser
Continuing our organizational theme, we will be building a gorgeous wooden dresser to help store clothes and other apparel items. This dresser will feature fragrant cedar drawer boxes, with dovetail joints, and soft-close drawer slides. This project will be very in-depth and the final product will be incredible!

FEBRUARY CLASSES
minimalist bed frame
Continuing the theme for this month will be a bed frame. We'll learn to make a very pretty wooden bed. This bedframe will be useful for all types of mattresses from hybrid to innerspring. It will feature knock-down connectors for easier transport.

entertainment console
Continuing the fun and games theme, we'll be building a modern high-end entertainment center. This project is great for movies, video games, or even a record player. Organize your media while proudly displaying it in this sophisticated cabinet.

APRIL CLASSES
OUTDOOR BBQ CART
As we head into the warmer months and prepare for summer days, let's use this time to create some great outdoor projects! We'll start our outdoor series with this cool BBQ caddy. This project will be perfect for any griller or outdoor chef. Store tools, supplies and other goodies on this all purpose cart.

GARDEN BENCH
Let's continue our outdoor series with this very popular class, the garden bench. This class was a major hit last year, so much so that students came back to make more benches on their own time. We'll make these benches from Sapele lumber, the most beautiful timber there is!​

MAY CLASSES
potting bench
Continuing our outdoor theme we have a fun project for plant lovers. We learn to make a proper potting bench. This will be a heavy and durable outdoor project to last for years. The bench will feature a sturdy top, upper shelf and lower storage.

JUNE CLASSES

This will be the final month of our outdoor series. We will conclude the series with these two raised planters. These planters will be made of cedar and be durable for the heartiest of gardens.

Continuing with the theme of this month we'll build one of the more elegant projects of the year, a bourbon bar cabinet. This cabinet will feature two large statement doors and behind these doors will be several dovetailed drawer boxes to easily access the contents inside.

September CLASSES
small bookcase
September is back to school month, and to go along with the upcoming studying and homework, we have a couple of projects to help with your school needs. We'll start this month with a crowd favorite, the small bookcase. Hold the books you need for class.​

computer desk
Continuing with the back to school theme, we'll be crafting a modern computer desk. This desk is perfect for any age, featuring a modern appearance, as well as a set of drawers and gorgeous wooden top. This desk will be a wonderful project to last through college and beyond.

october CLASSES
leather front cabinet
As Summer comes to an end we prepare for Fall and everything it has to offer. We'll get ready to host friends and family for all the holiday events soon to come. We'll start with this unique project, a leather side board cabinet. This cabinet will certainly make a statement and be great for hosting guests.

november CLASSES
massive carving board
November marks a transition from Fall into Winter. This month is all about togetherness and being with friends and family. For this month we prepare for the holidays by creating a massive carving board for your upcoming gatherings.

kitchen island
Continuing with the theme of this month we'll build a kitchen island. A great addition to any kitchen, this project will provide additional countertop space and storage. This island will feature a thick gorgeous wooden top, along with drawers and doors.

december CLASSES
I want to personally thank you for taking a look at our class offerings. I do hope you will enjoy at least one of them.
For the month of December we will not be hosting any major classes, instead we plan to host our annual toy drive.
For those who are unfamiliar with what that means, every year at this time WorkbenchRVA and a team of wonderful people like yourself, come together to build wooden toys for the local children's hospital so they can enjoy them during the holiday season.
​
December is a special month where the cold winter weather allows us time to relax inside and come together with loved ones. We celebrate the end of the year and joyfully await the arrival of a new one. For this reason and many others, we choose to give back, say thank you, and show our appreciation for the year we had. Without you, our members, and the wonderful clients we have, this entire business would not be possible.

Dates for the toy drive will be determined and communicated in November, however the estimated timeframe for the toy drive will be early to mid-December.
